Wonder, a creative agency renowned for reimagining experiences across the globe, is not only dedicated to creating memorable events but also to making a positive impact on the communities they touch. As part of their ongoing commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, Wonder partnered with Event Cycle to ensure that surplus materials from their most recent warehouse clearance were repurposed and donated to local charities and social organisations.
The items donated included artificial living wall panels, IKEA plant stands, canvas material, cushion fillers, outdoor standing ashtrays, mirror balls, fans, pen pots, plastic pencil containers, and parasol stands. These materials have been given new life through the following organisations:
RSPCA Wimbledon: The RSPCA, which focuses on rescuing and rehabilitating animals, will use the artificial living wall panels and plant stands to create engaging window displays in their shops, helping to attract attention and raise funds for their cause.
Cherry Groce Foundation: Dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities and promoting restorative justice, the Cherry Groce Foundation received fans, cushion fillers, plant stands, and desk organisers. These items will enhance their office and common areas, creating a more welcoming environment for both staff and beneficiaries.
Sutton Community Champions: This organisation rehomes second-hand items and redistributes food surplus to vulnerable individuals and those in need. They received parasol stands and ashtrays, which will be utilised in some of their community projects across Kingston and Sutton, directly aiding those in need.
Save the World Club: Committed to repurposing goods destined for landfill, Save the World Club received parasol stands that will be redistributed within the local community, supporting sustainability and reducing waste. In particular Save the world club supports those on low incomes who cannot afford to furnish their homes as well as refugees who seek support when moving into new accommodation.
The Little Ark: Focused on providing sewing classes and skills to underserved communities, The Little Ark received cushion fillers and canvas material. These materials will be used to create new items for one of their many projects which have included creating pouches for stoma bags, making masks for NHS workers and sewing bags for those collecting loved one’s belongings from nursing homes.
Through this collaboration, Wonder has shown that their impact extends beyond the events they produce. By partnering with Event Cycle, they’ve not only cleared space in their warehouse but also supported local communities, reinforcing their dedication to sustainability and social good in the events industry.
